7-Eleven rewards Aussies with free coffee
Coffee lovers rejoice! This month, you can get your hands on free coffee at 7-Eleven stores nationwide. All you need to do is bring a reusable coffee cup to enjoy 7-Eleven’s popular freshly ground coffee for free.
7-Eleven’s 28 day initiative runs from 6 August - 2 September, and aims to encourage the reduction of single use cups by incentivising Aussies to commit to reusable cups as part of their everyday habits.
Last year 7-Eleven partnered with Simply Cups, launching a recycling revolution aiming to rescue 70 million takeaway cups from landfill. Over the past year more than 1.6 million cups were collected through 7-Eleven recycling units.
Angus McKay, Chief Executive Officer, said that 7-Eleven, one of Australia’s largest coffee retailers, is committed to reducing the amount of single use cups that end up in landfill.
“At 7-Eleven, we’re proud of our efforts to date in revolutionising the recycling of single use paper cups in Australia, but a great alternative to single use cups is bringing your own reusable cup. Less than 1% of 7-Eleven coffee customers are currently bringing reusable cups, and we’d like that number to increase,” McKay said.
“The power to reduce the volume of single use cups in landfill is - quite literally - in our hands. It takes 21 days to make or break a habit so we’re running this new initiative for 28 days to give Aussies the best chance of making a small change to their habits that, over time, will make a significant contribution to reducing single use cup waste.”
To get your hands on a free cup of coffee, bring in your own reusable coffee cup or purchase a 7-Eleven rCup at 7-Eleven stores Australia-wide from 6 August - 2 September 2019.
